Components of Sareee 

Pallu (Pallav)

• The decorative end of the saree that falls over the shoulder.

• Often features intricate embroidery, prints, zari work, or embellishments.

• Considered the most attractive part of the saree.

Body (Main Field)

• The central and largest portion of the saree.

• Covers the body and forms the drape and pleats.

• Usually contains motifs, patterns, or woven designs.

Border (Kinari)

• Runs along the edges of the saree.

• Enhances the overall appearance and provides structure to the drape.

• Can be narrow, broad, woven, embroidered, or embellished.

Pleats

• Folds created at the front waist while draping.

• Allow ease of movement and create a graceful silhouette.

Blouse (Choli)

• The fitted upper garment worn with the saree.

• Can be styled in traditional, contemporary, or designer patterns.

Petticoat (Inner Skirt)

• Worn underneath the saree.

• Provides support and serves as the base where the saree is tucked.

Tassels (Latkans)

• Decorative threads or embellishments attached to the pallu.

• Add aesthetic appeal and movement.
